The shifter is simply worn out, has a lot of play and is at times hard to find the right gear. Anyways, I have been searching the net and E-Bay for a replacement shifter assembly with no luck. When I bought my pickup, the shifter was sloppy, and when I took it apart the bushings were non existent. Just replacing these bushings tightened up my shifter 100%.
